Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Cast Begs Early Audiences Not To Spoil The Movie

Most of us have yet to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, but apparently those that have are in possession of some pretty serious information. It's so serious that the film has now begun using the hashtag Protect the Secrets as part of its marketing campaign and Eddie Redmayne himself is pleading with those lucky enough to see advance screenings to keep their mouth shut regarding the big reveals of the film, whatever they may be. Hear Redmayne's plea below.

So, while the rest of us don't know what all the fuss is about, and hopefully won't know until we see the movie, the one thing we do know is that there is something to make a fuss over. It seems that whatever happens in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the sort of stuff that fans won't want to have spoiled. It sounds like a lot is going to happen in the Wizarding World.

It's an interesting decision to play up the spoiler aspect of the film in a franchise that lost it's biggest twist of the first film before the movie came out. We knew that Johnny Depp was playing Grindelwald, a character who doesn't show up until the last minutes of the previous film, weeks before the movie came out. One wonders if lessons were learned to keep the new secrets actually secret.

Of course, knowing that there are spoiler worthy moments in The Crimes of Grindelwald, but not having any clue what they are, you certainly begin to wonder. Based on Eddie Redmayne's video, and the fact that the pin he's holding contains the symbol for the Deathly Hallows, one has to wonder how they might be involved. Does somebody die that we wouldn't expect? Will another new character, but with a name that we're familiar with, make an appearance? Does Daniel Radcliffe show up via Time-Turner to save the day? Probably not.

Whatever the spoilers are, they're so big that apparently, even J.K. Rowling herself is having trouble keeping quiet about them.

Based on the comments of the tweet that J.K. Rowling is responding to, it seems that the spoiler info may simply relate to where things are left at the end of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. While we knew before the first movie came out that it would be the first of five films, it wasn't exactly clear at the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them what the next step in the story would actually be. All we really know now is that Grindelwald will continue to be the antagonist, but it sounds like we may have some more specific direction at the end of the new film, a direction that may be entirely unexpected.

If you're lucky enough to attend an early screening, as there will certainly be more over the next couple of weeks, then you'll be tasked to Protect the Secrets as well. If not, you'll have to wait until the movie hits theaters November 16.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them 2: The Crimes of Grindlewald is the perfect title for this movie; it's overly-long, half of it's redundant, and it makes you tired just by saying it - a perfect distillation of everything wrong with this movie.
